A Grid Tie Solar Rooftop System is a Photovoltaic (PV) system that
has its electricity generating modules (Solar Photovoltaic
Modules) mounted on the rooftop of a residential / commercial
industrial building. The system converts the DC Power generated
by Solar Photovoltaic Modules to AC power using Power
Conditioning Units (PCU or Inverter).
The generated power during the day time can be utilised to run all
kind of electrical appliances and excess power can be fed to grid as
long as grid is available. In cases where solar power is not sufficient
due to cloud cover or during night hours the captive loads are
served by drawing the Power from grid. A Grid Tie Solar Rooftop
System work on net metering basis wherein the beneficiary pays to
utility on net meter reading basis only.
